A New Year... and a New You!

Happy 2011 Everybody!
I wanted to take a minute to encourage you to take better care of yourself this year.  Most people say they will, but few actually do.  So I thought I would share with you some simple ways to take better care of yourself (in no particular order... just brainstorming here).

  • Drink more water!  And, by the way, water means water.  The "water" in juice, soda, tea, coffee, etc... does not count!  Check out http://www.watercure.com/
  • Be Active.  Walk more.  Play more.  Take the stairs more.  Be outside more.
  • Sleep.  At least 7-8 hours per night for most of you.
  • Decrease coffee and alcohol, and replace with water!  Stimulants & Depressants (coffee & alcohol) should definitely be reduced.
  • Exercise.  Cardio (walking, running, swimming, etc..) 3-5 days per week for 20-45 minutes per day.
  • Exercise.  Strength Training (weights, pilates, push-ups, sit-ups, etc..) 3-5 days per week for 20-45 minutes per day.
  • Chiropractic Care!  We keep your spine in alignment and keep your nervous system working better.  When your nerves are happier, your body is happier.  This will help keep you healthier!
  • Be Social!  Hang out with friends and family and have fun!
  • Don't eat fast food!  Fast Food Is Not Food!
Just a quick note, and I hope it is helpful.  Please contact me if I can be of service to you, your friends, or your family!

Your Health is Your Life...

...Don't Lose It!  I used to tell my Dad this about 20 years ago.  Now, after taking care of people for so many years, I am reminded DAILY of this!  YOUR HEALTH IS YOUR LIFE, DON'T LOSE IT.

I see people that have made many poor lifestyle decisions that have "caught up" with them.  Things you do today will either make you healthier, or lead to sickness and dis-ease in your body.  You can have it all ($, looks, personality, cars, houses, huge flat-screen TVs, etc...), but without your health and wellness you cannot enjoy it.

It is awfully hard to enjoy life if you are constantly out of breath, or in pain.  It is hard if you always have a normal headache (BTW, there is no such thing as a normal headache!  There are only common headaches for some people).

Just this week, for example, we have helped (meaning the patient told us how much better they were after their treatment) people with:
Migraine Headaches
Sinus Headache with Congestion
Neck and back pain (of course)
Shoulder Pain
Sciatica
Ankle Pain
Foot Pain
Indigestion
Constipation
and
"Walking Crooked."

Just to name a few.  The last one seems funny, but just think... if you are able to move and walk better and without pain, then you will be more active.  The more active you are, the healthier you will be!

Also, if you don't need to take drugs or medication to treat these conditions, then you will be healthier!  If we can help you stay healthy and well without the use of meds, then you will be healthier!

Healthy People don't need drugs!

Authenticity & Being Real

The other day I was thinking that one of the things we really want from people is for them to be honest and open in their dealings with us.  We want people to be authentic, meaning that they should be who they are with you, with other people, and with their loved ones.

I come across many people whom I know I can help, but they are super skeptical of what I tell them.  It can be as simple as me telling them, "I think I can help you feel better and have more energy."  If they choose not to listen there is not much I can do, but it drives me nuts because I know that I can help them!

Please find below more information about me (this is also on my website www.LifelinePower.com).  Perhaps this will help you to "know me" a little better, and know that who I am is who I am.  I work hard at being authentic and above reproach in all areas of my life!

Your Health is Your Life...

Your Health is Your Life, Don't Lose It!

Here is the deal... YOU NEED TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! No one else will. We all grow up and get older and the older you get the more likely you will have health challenges. Whether these challenges are a result of poor health habits or some sort of accident or injury, it doesn't matter. A challenge is a challenge!

The fitter you are, the easier it will be to "fight" or overcome whatever comes your way. Let me illustrate: It is much easier to rehab and recover from an ankle or knee injury if you are in shape ( stronger muscles, more energy, and aren't overweight). If you are out of shape, the extra weight and weaker muscles and lack of energy will all impair your recovery!

I write this because it's hard for me to see so many people not taking care of themselves for the future! Any disease or accident or surgery will be better handled by you if you are fit! This includes your spine, by the way!

This is a tiny bit of what I want to write, but I will continue later.

"Wellness Wisdom"

Welcome to my 1st blog! I created this so that I may share some "wellness wisdom" with you. We live in a crazy sick world, and by sick-I mean not healthy! Many people come in to my office and tell me that they are healthy, and yet they are on 3-5 medications! Healthy People don't need drugs and/or take drugs (but that is for a later post).

I see the world very simply. We make choices every day that either make us healthier or sicker. It is all about choice. We either choose to be healthy-or not (there are always exceptions... don't get upset)! What I mean is, we choose to eat healthy and do healthy things, or we don't. We choose to drink water, eat healthy, get a good night's sleep, exercise, socialize, work hard, and play hard. We choose to love others and serve others. We choose to have a good day. We choose...

Water, soda, juice, beer, coffee, wine... what will you choose? When? Why?

Fast food or real food?

Exercise or not? Swim? Bike? Run? Walk? Weights?

Chiropractic? Acupuncture? Nutrition?

To be healthy and well it is important to THINK ABOUT what you are doing. You will either do it or not! Without thinking about it, you cannot be healthy, but 'thinking about it' leads to better decisions that will positively impact your overall health and wellness!

Journey with me to see where this blog goes. Hopefully it will get you to think more, and then you will make smarter choices, which will then lead to a healthier life.

Be Well.
